The Origin
Head injuries are the most ignored risk in surfing. We refused to ignore it.
Every surfer knows someone who's been hit. A fin to the temple. A board to the back of the head. A reef encounter that ended a session — or worse. The lineup quietly accepts it as part of the deal.
We didn't. Surf Skull was started by surfers who also happened to be engineers and designers — people who'd spent careers at Google, Neuralink, and Wing solving problems that didn't have obvious answers. So we asked an obvious one: why doesn't a real surf helmet exist?
Not a kayaking helmet pressed into service. Not a foam shell that looks like a costume. A helmet that respects the wave, the paddle-out, and the way surfers actually want to look in the water.
